Understanding Bed Sizes
If you are in the market for a new bed, you may be asking yourself the question, just what
is the difference between the various bed sizes.
Twin, also known as “Single” is most often used in children’s rooms and guest bedrooms. It’s
a narrow bed that’s easy to make and can fit almost anywhere.
Overall: 39” wide x 75” long”.
Pros: Because of its small size it will fit easily into smaller bedrooms. Sheets are less
expensive than for other size beds. A Twin bed is easy to make.
Full, also known as “Double”.
Overall: 54” wide x 75” long”.
Pros: A full size bed is a very versatile product and quite common in many guestrooms where room is a factor. Will sleep two adults, is easy to move and fits into most bedrooms.
Queen, Most popular bed choice.
Overall: 60” wide x 80” long”.
King, Mattress is roomy in width and is the longest standard bed available. At about 80” it is adequate for taller people.
Overall: 76” wide x 80” long”.
